Renee Joined the firm in February 2017 and is a Senior Solicitor in the litigation team, with a special interest in family law and relationship property. She provides legal advice and representation on family law, employment law and civil litigation disputes.
Renee is a Whakatane and Edgecumbe local. She graduated from Otago University in 2010 with a Bachelor or Laws and Bachelor of Arts (majoring in human services). In 2011 she was admitted to the bar and began working for one of Tauranga’s largest law firms. In 2014, after three years of practice, Renee embarked on her OE, moving to London for two years. Initially, she worked in the anti-trust team of the Competition and Markets Authority, investigating sectors for breaches of competition law. She later took up a policy adviser position at the Law Society of England and Wales, advising on tax and corporate/commercial law policy.
Since returning to Whakatane from her travels abroad, Renee is enjoying the benefits of an Eastern Bay of Plenty lifestyle such as fishing and camping. She’s focused on helping her clients achieve a result that works for them, as well as providing clarity in situations that often seems complicated or wrapped in jargon. She understands the importance of providing robust advocacy during times that clients feel daunted by the process.
